Google to Allow Online Gambling Advertising in Belarus
On January 6, Google announced an update to the Google Ads advertising policy.
Starting on January 22, 2026, operators operating in Belarus will be allowed to advertise online poker, sports betting, online casino games, and state lotteries through Google Ads.
Google Ads Policy Update for Belarus
The changes apply to the Gambling and Games policy and will take effect on January 22, 2026. Google Ads will begin accepting advertisements from online gambling operators that hold the required authorization from the competent authorities of the Republic of Belarus.
Types of Advertising Allowed
Under the updated policy, advertising is permitted for the following products:
- Online poker
- Sports betting
- Online casino games
- State lotteries
Licensing Requirements for Operators
Operators of online poker, sports betting, and online casino games must hold a valid license issued by the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of the Republic of Belarus.
Lottery operators must be established by the Office of the President of the Republic of Belarus or the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
Google Advertiser Certification
To place ads on Google Ads, advertisers must complete mandatory Google certification. Applications for certification are accepted in accordance with Google’s established procedures.
The Gambling and Games policy page will be updated on the date the new rules come into force — January 22, 2026.
