The Impact of Regulation on Club Sponsorship
Experts believe that regulating the betting industry makes such deals safer for clubs. Leonardo Henrique Roscoe Bessa, a consultant for the Federal Council of the OAB and a betting industry expert, noted that Brazil is already among the top three global sports betting markets. Further sector growth is expected in the coming years, leading to even longer and more lucrative sponsorship contracts.
Million-Dollar Deals and New Contracts
Some clubs have already significantly increased their revenue through partnerships with betting companies. For example, Botafogo-SP signed a contract with HanzBet, which will increase the club’s revenue by 40% in 2025.
Other clubs also secured profitable agreements:
- CRB – with BETesporte
- Paysandu and Vila Nova – with GingaBet
According to André Baldavira, head of marketing at GingaBet, such partnerships not only promote brands but also help develop the sport, strengthening the connection with fans.
Clubs Seeking New Partners
Some clubs are still in negotiations. Avaí is looking for a new title sponsor after its contract with PixBet ended, while Cuiabá is considering offers after completing its deal with Drebor. Club president Cristiano Dresch emphasized that negotiations will only begin after receiving satisfactory proposals.
