SRIJ revokes Betway licenses in Portugal

In Portugal, the regulator SRIJ revoked online casino and betting licenses (No. 021 and No. 022) held by Betway (GM GAMING LIMITED) at the company’s own request.

Decision of the Gambling Commission

The decision was adopted by the Gaming Commission of Turismo de Portugal at a meeting held on January 5, 2026, following an official application from the operator.

The revoked licenses allowed the company to operate online casino games and betting on the website betway.pt.

The revocation of the licenses was carried out at the initiative of the company itself, which had previously ceased operations in the Portuguese market.

Betway exited Portugal on September 30, 2024 and does not plan to return to the market.
