India Blocks 300 Betting and Casino Sites

In India, authorities have blocked around 300 unnamed iGaming resources, reports the government portal News on AIR.

Blocking of Websites and Applications

The restrictions targeted illegal betting and casino websites, as well as mobile applications.

These include platforms offering sports betting, online casinos with slots, roulette, and live dealer games, as well as betting exchanges operating on a peer-to-peer model.

Additional Measures

Action has also been taken against satta and matka networks, along with real-money card and casino gaming applications.

Total Number of Blocks

According to sources, a total of around 8,400 such websites have been blocked.

After the Law Adoption

Of this number, nearly 4,900 resources were taken down after the adoption of the online gaming law.
