Brazilian Regulator Suspends Licenses of Pixbet, Caixa Loterias, Cbet, and Tele Sena Bet: What’s Going On?

Who Is Under Scrutiny?

The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of Brazil (SPA) has temporarily suspended the licenses of four major operators — Pixbet, Caixa Loterias, Cbet, and Tele Sena Bet.

The reason: lack of required technical certification for their systems and servers.

Full List of Companies:

  • Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas: Pixbet, Flabet, Bet da Sorte
  • Caixa Loterias: Betcaixa, Megabet, Xbet Caixa
  • TQJ-Par (Grupo Silvio Santos): Tele Sena Bet, Baú Bingo, Bet do Milhão
  • 7MBR LTDA (Cbet): Cbet platform

Many of these brands are among the most recognizable in the country, including the state-owned Caixa Econômica Federal and the major media conglomerate Grupo Silvio Santos.

Why Were Their Licenses Suspended?

The regulator demanded that operators submit certified documentation confirming their systems are ready for operation:

  • Betting systems certification
  • Remote Gaming Server (RGS) certification
  • Integration methods with platforms

The documents must be issued by an accredited organization and comply with the requirements of Portaria SPA/MF No. 300 dated February 23, 2024.

What Happens Next?

Operators have been given 90 days to address the violations. During this period:

  • They are prohibited from accepting new bets
  • Users can withdraw funds
  • Operators may request an additional 30 days if they provide a justification from the certifying organization

If the companies fail to provide the documents, their licenses will be permanently revoked and their administrative authorization will be canceled.

Why Does This Matter?

This move by the SPA shows that even provisional licenses require full compliance with regulations. The suspension of such prominent brands sends a clear message to the entire market: no certification, no operation.

Possible Consequences:

  • Exit of operators unprepared for the new rules
  • Opening the market for more compliant companies
  • Increased player trust in regulated platforms

Analysts point out that the situation may impact the overall industry climate.
