A Brazilian Influencer Couple Arrested for Scheme-Related Traffic on Fortune Tiger
Two Brazilian influencers, Ianka Cristine and her husband Bruno Martins, were arrested on charges of fraud related to staging large wins on the online slot game Fortune Tiger (Jogo do Tigrinho). The couple used their popularity on social media to deceive their followers, encouraging them to place bets on the game.
False Promises of Easy Money
Ianka Cristine, known as “a millionaire at 28,” attracted the attention of her 15 million followers by promising easy money from the comfort of home. She often shared stories about how she became successful by selling sweets on the street and now lives a life filled with luxury and comfort. Through fake wins on the online game Fortune Tiger, Cristine showed her followers how easy it was to win huge amounts of money.
How the Influencers Deceived Their Followers
Instead of showing real winnings, Ianka and Bruno used the demo version of the game to demonstrate fake results. This allowed them to show massive winnings and convince their followers to sign up on the platform through their referral links. In return, they received money from the game’s organizers.
During the scam, they also showcased their purchases of luxury cars, such as a McLaren 720 Spider worth around £200,000, as well as expensive homes and designer clothing, claiming that these items were purchased thanks to their winnings from the game.
Response from Law Enforcement
After the scam came to light, the police launched an operation called Lance Final in the Brazilian city of Itajaí. As a result, Ianka, her husband Bruno Martins, and their advisor were arrested. Their elite properties, cars, designer clothing were seized, and all their bank accounts were frozen. The couple’s social media accounts were also blocked.
Consequences and Ongoing Investigation
At present, the couple has neither confirmed nor denied the charges. However, the investigation is ongoing, and all evidence points to the use of fake wins to promote the online game and generate profit. The social media platforms they used to attract their followers are now blocked, which will significantly impact their future careers as influencers.
Despite promises of a quick and easy life, the financial difficulties Ianka faced before starting her career, and her rise to the status of “millionaire,” have now resulted in serious consequences.
The police continue their investigation, and the public is awaiting further details on how the couple will be held accountable for their actions.
