Google Bans Offline Casino Advertising in 42 Countries

Google expanded its list of prohibited territories for offline gambling advertising in Google Ads on November 19, 2025, adding eight new countries.

Google Ads Policy Update on Offline Gambling

The company refined the rules within the “Gambling and Games” category, updating both the examples of permitted and restricted ad types and expanding the list of regions where offline gambling promotion is not allowed.

Google emphasized that the English version of the policy remains the official source, while translations are provided only for convenience.

What Advertising Is Allowed

Google Ads permits promoting legal offline gambling activities and real brick-and-mortar establishments, provided this is compliant with the laws of the specific country.

  • Brick-and-mortar casinos
  • Gaming halls, including pachinko parlors
  • Streaming of offline poker tournaments

Advertising is considered valid only if local legal requirements are met. For instance, platforms must display age restrictions and follow regional advertising standards.

What Advertising Is Prohibited

Offline gambling promotion is banned in locations where such advertising is illegal.

Violations may result in an immediate suspension of the advertising account without prior warning.
