Google Ads Eases Rules for Social Casino Advertising

On December 4, 2024, Google will update its personalized ads policy, removing social casino apps from the gambling category. This will allow advertisers to apply personalized targeting for promoting such applications.

Update Details

The “sensitive interests” category related to gambling will be modified to explicitly exclude campaigns for social casino apps. Personalization remains prohibited for ads related to traditional gambling, including online casinos and betting.

Policy Violation Measures

Google will not immediately block advertisers’ accounts for violating the new policy. In case of non-compliance, a warning will be issued at least 7 days before a possible account suspension.
