Trial of Ducky Bhai in Pakistan

In Pakistan, a court case has begun against blogger Saadur Rehman (Ducky Bhai, over 10 million subscribers on YouTube) and his wife Aroob Jatoi (aroob_jatoi, 3 million followers on Instagram) over the promotion of 1xBet and Binomo.
Case Against Ducky Bhai and His Wife
Nature of the Charges
A district court in Lahore has indicted Saadur Rehman, his wife, and other defendants in a case related to the alleged promotion of online gambling and betting applications.
According to the prosecution, the blogger promoted the Binomo and 1xBet platforms through his YouTube channel.
Position of the Defendants
During the hearing conducted by Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo, all defendants pleaded not guilty.
The court summoned witnesses in the case, with the next hearing scheduled for February 23.
NCCIA Investigation
Arrest and Detention
The case was registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Ducky Bhai was arrested on August 17, 2025, and spent nearly three months in NCCIA custody.
After more than three months in detention, he was released on bail by a decision of the Lahore High Court on November 26.
Charges Filed
According to the FIR, the case includes charges under Sections 13, 14, 25, and 26 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, as well as Sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Allegations of Abuse
Accusations Against NCCIA Officials
Following his release, Saadur Rehman publicly alleged mistreatment during his time in custody.
In a video statement published in December 2025, he spoke about beatings, verbal abuse, and humiliation during interrogations.
He also made direct accusations against former additional director of NCCIA Lahore Sarfraz Chaudhry.
Further Law Enforcement Actions
In September 2025, Chaudhry was dismissed from his position, and in October he was arrested along with six NCCIA officers.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is conducting an inquiry into alleged abuse of authority and bribery.
