Hacker Breaches MGA and Shares Data

Berlin-based cybersecurity specialist Lilith Wittmann, a member of the Chaos Computer Club hacker collective, has taken responsibility for breaching Malta’s regulator MGA.
Statement on the MGA Breach
In a LinkedIn post on March 20 (later removed by the platform), as well as on X, Wittmann stated that she had already shared the regulator’s data with media partners and government representatives.
However, the specific recipients of the data were not disclosed.
Data Disclosure and Next Steps
Wittmann also promised to reveal what she described as schemes facilitating organized crime.
She warned that all available data would be released immediately if she faces prosecution by Maltese authorities.
Regulator’s Response
Representatives of MGA condemned Wittmann’s actions and called her allegations unfounded.
Potential Liability
For unauthorized access to Malta’s state systems, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
