Polymarket Tops the Sports App Charts in the App Store

The prediction market platform Polymarket took the number one spot among free sports apps in the App Store on December 1.
The rapid surge in downloads is linked to an interview with founder Shayne Coplan on the “60 Minutes” program on November 30. The app is currently operating in beta mode with invite-only access, and markets are available exclusively for sports events.
Growing Popularity of Polymarket
What Triggered the Spike in Downloads
Increased attention followed Shayne Coplan’s appearance on “60 Minutes.” The founder’s interview brought a significant influx of new users, which boosted the app’s position in the rankings.
Beta Mode and Feature Availability
The app runs on an invite-code system. Users currently have access only to sports markets, which has not stopped rising interest and download numbers. This setup helps keep the audience engaged and draws attention to the platform’s features.
Changes in the App’s Ranking
At the time of writing, Polymarket has slipped to third place. It was overtaken by DraftKings (2nd place) and FanDuel (1st place). Despite the drop, overall interest in the platform remains strong.
