Blask: October Is the Peak Month of iGaming Activity in 37 Countries

The analytics platform Blask has provided iGN with data on seasonal player activity based on its new Seasonality widget in Blask Index Trends, which highlights the most active months, days of the week, and hours for any of the 107 countries available on the platform from early 2024 to the present. The iGN editorial team highlights the three most active months:
- October — the leading month in 37 countries (including Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, Italy, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar)
- December — the leading month in 22 countries (including France, Denmark, Portugal, South Korea, Algeria)
- September — the leading month in 16 countries (including Spain, Romania, Malaysia, Nigeria, Chile, Panama)
Reasons Behind the Activity (Football)
- October — two Champions League matchdays + an international break + Copa Libertadores semifinals
- December — the end of the autumn stage of European competitions + Christmas fixtures in top leagues + Boxing Day in the Premier League and matches on December 27–28
- September — Champions League kickoff + an international break + Copa Libertadores quarterfinals
Blask recommends that operators plan October as a month for large-scale activations: cross-market and cross-sport campaigns, boosted live coverage during Champions League matchdays, and local adjustments for international breaks. December should be used for promo peaks during European competition weeks and holiday fixtures, as well as standalone offers between key dates. September is best suited for funnel relaunches, scaling creative campaigns around the return of major football, and preparing for the October peak.
January became the peak month in several African countries due to the Africa Cup of Nations (January 13 – February 11, 2024), demonstrating how major tournaments influence regional activity.
