Betano Becomes the New Title Sponsor of River Plate — $6 Million per Year Deal

A New Chapter for the Argentine Giant

Betano becomes the new general sponsor of the Argentine football club River Plate. The contract will take effect in May 2025 and will last until July 31, 2027. There is also an option to extend it for one more year.

The deal is worth $6 million per year, nearly double the revenue from the previous contract with Codere — $3.5 million. This new agreement is one of the largest sponsorship deals in the club’s history.

When Will Betano Appear on the Shirt?

The official agreement with Codere expires in July 2025, but there is a possibility that Betano could appear on River Plate’s shirts sooner.

According to the club, the debut of the new sponsor could occur at the Club World Cup, which will conclude on July 13. However, a final decision has not yet been made.

Financial Terms of the Agreement

The new contract with Betano includes:

  • $6 million per year — total amount;
  • $5 million “net” — after tax deductions;
  • Bonuses for won trophies;
  • Option to extend until 2028.

For comparison:
