Australia Blocks Megabet Prize and Other Illegal Online Casinos
Four Websites Blocked
The websites of operators Megabet Prize, Mega Medusa, TF2Royal, and Casino Intense will be blocked by Australian internet providers.
This decision was made by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) following an investigation that revealed violations of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
Why the Websites Are Being Blocked
ACMA continues to crack down on illegal online casinos to protect Australian users from fraud.
These websites were offering gambling services without a license and were in breach of legal requirements.
Website blocking is one of the measures the agency uses. Since 2019, ACMA has requested the blocking of 1,210 websites, and since the start of active enforcement in 2017, around 220 illegal operators have exited the Australian market.
Why It Matters
Many illegal websites may appear legitimate, but they do not offer basic protections for customers. This means players risk losing their money with no way to recover it.
Key risks include:
- No money-back guarantee
- No fairness control for games
- No way to file complaints
- Violation of legal regulations
How to Check If a Site Is Legal
Before using any online casino or bookmaker, make sure it is licensed in Australia.

What to Do If a Site Is Illegal
If you come across a suspicious site, you can report it to ACMA. The regulator’s website also provides helpful information on how to protect yourself from illegal operators and where to seek help in case of issues.
