Australian Regulator Blocks 47 Gambling Websites
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) continues its active efforts against illegal online gambling by blocking websites that violate the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA). In the third quarter of 2024, ACMA processed 396 inquiries and identified 344 violations, conducting 19 investigations involving 37 gambling sites. As a result, 47 websites were blocked, including:

Of the 56 identified violations, 33 related to the provision of illegal gambling services, 19 to services without a local license, and 4 to the advertising of these services.
ACMA’s Actions on Website Blocking
ACMA continues to block websites that violate the IGA. Most of these are casino-style services offering games such as blackjack, roulette, poker, and slots. Some of these sites also provide wagering services without an Australian license. Providing or advertising such services to customers in Australia is an offense.
Types of Violations
- Providing prohibited interactive gambling services to Australian customers.
- Providing unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services to Australian customers.
- Advertising prohibited and/or unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services in Australia.
Enforcement Measures
ACMA took the following actions:
- Issued 10 formal warnings to service providers, including Huxley Harris, Martin Robinson, and Liernin Enterprises Limited.
- Reported 47 URLs to accredited family-friendly filter providers for inclusion in the list of blocked sites.

- Check whether an online casino holds an Australian license.
- Avoid using sites that lack a license or provide prohibited gambling services.
- Report suspicious sites to ACMA.
