Balkans launch BGF gaming industry federation

In Serbia (Belgrade), seven national gaming industry associations from the Balkans signed a memorandum of cooperation and initiated the creation of the Balkan Gaming Federation (BGF).

Creation of the Balkan Gaming Federation

The initiative was led by AGOS (Serbia) and AOGGAB (Bulgaria), with other regional industry associations joining the effort.

Member composition

The new structure includes associations from Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.

Montenegro’s role in the initiative

The Group of Gaming Operators at the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro is among the founding members of the new federation.

Memorandum signing

On behalf of Montenegro, the document was signed by Filip Knežević, acting as president of the group.

According to him, participation in BGF strengthens the position of the regulated sector and provides access to cooperation with companies and organizations across the region.

Objectives and areas of work

Participants will focus on coordination and development of the industry at the regional level.

  • addressing unfair competition
  • sharing regulatory experience
  • coordinating legislation
  • encouraging investments and partnerships

Positioning of the Balkans

The region is viewed as a unified European gaming zone with a growing number of companies and technological capabilities.

International cooperation

The federation plans to build connections with European institutions and industry organizations.

Next steps

The next meeting is scheduled for May 26 during the Belgrade Future Gaming exhibition.

Structural development

The event will include discussion and voting on the draft statute and organizational structure of the BGF.
