PlayCity fines Vbet operator in Ukraine

In Ukraine, the regulator PlayCity following a scheduled inspection fined the operator Vbet ₴432,350 ($10,000) for violations of sector-specific legislation and licensing requirements, in particular those related to business operations and responsible gambling principles.

Scheduled inspection by PlayCity

The inspection was carried out as part of regular oversight of gambling operators operating in Ukraine.

Identified violations

During the inspection, the regulator identified a number of violations of sector-specific legislation and licensing requirements by LLC “VBET UKRAINE”.

The violations concerned the organization of the operator’s activities as well as compliance with responsible gambling principles.

Fine amount

As a result of the inspection, a fine of ₴432,350 was imposed on the company.

Rectification of violations

It is reported that all identified violations were remedied by the operator during the inspection.

Regulator’s position

PlayCity stated that the application of sanctions is a mandatory measure under current legislation, even when violations are promptly rectified.
