Epic Games bans prize wheel monetization

Epic Games has, as of January 20, banned creators of custom maps in Fortnite from monetizing prize wheel mechanics.
Reasons for the ban in Fortnite
The decision followed a wave of criticism from the community directed at the Steal the Brainrot map.
On that map, a single spin of the prize wheel cost 100 V-Bucks, equivalent to approximately $0.75.
Additional concern was raised by the fact that the map was aimed at a minor audience.
New rule for developers
Epic Games introduced a new rule for creators of custom Fortnite maps related to the use of prize wheels.
Restrictions on in-island transactions
Under rule 4.4.15, any in-island transactions that directly or indirectly affect prize wheels are prohibited.
Specifically, developers are not allowed to sell spins or offer increased odds when using prize wheel mechanics.
Rule enforcement date
The rule was published and enforcement began on January 20.
