Google Allows Advertising for Prediction Markets in the US

On January 5, Google announced an update to the advertising policy of its Google Ads service.
Starting January 21, 2026, advertising for prediction market platforms will be permitted in the United States.
Google Ads Policy Update
The changes apply to platforms that provide access to Exchange-Listed Event Contracts related to economics, sports, or current events, and will take effect on January 21, 2026. Advertisers may promote these products only if they comply with federal regulations.
Who Can Advertise
Advertising is allowed for:
- Designated Contract Market (DCM) platforms whose primary business is the listing of Exchange-Listed Event Contracts, including economic and sports contracts.
- NFA-authorized brokers providing clients access to products listed by a DCM that meets the specified criteria.
Certification Requirements
Advertisers must complete mandatory Google certification to run campaigns targeting the US. All ads, products, and landing pages must comply with local laws, financial regulations, industry standards, and Google Ads policies.
Policy Application and Availability
Full details of the updated policy will be available on the Prediction Markets policy page in the Google Ads Help Center. This information is integrated into the Financial Services and Gambling and Games sections and will apply starting January 21, 2026.
